Amazon Announces Bigger Kindle

imagesErrr…What? Usually we like to go smaller with electronics, not bigger, but Jeff Bezos announced the Kindle DX yesterday, with a larger reading display. My marketing brain is screaming “He’s targeting the baby boomers!!” which may or may not be true…

The display is large enough that you can read PDF files natively without scrolling, panning, or zooming, and without re-flowing, which destroys the original structure of the document.

Check out the comparison below if you’re curious about the DX’s specs, or visit its information page on Amazon.

So, does bigger really mean better in this case? I am enthralled by this device (or the idea of it) but in all honesty a larger screen size means absolutely zip to me. Thoughts? Anyone with a Kindle who wants to trade up for a DX?
