My Blog is Fabuloso!

After a busy weekend, I checked in on my blog and saw that I had been nominated for the “Your Blog is Fabulous” Award! Thanks, Dave! fabulousblogaward2

As per the rules, I must now list 5 things that I absolutely can’t live without!

  1. The love of my life, Jacob. Without him, I would be lost :-)
  2. Books. Duh.
  3. Beer. I love trying new beers, and enjoying them on lazy summer evenings out on the patio.
  4. My Macbook, for without it I would so isolated!
  5. National Public Radio (NPR)-I love music but I hate what’s usually on the radio, and I’m too lazy to rotate my cds, so I’m pretty much always set to NPR!

And five fabulous blogs (although there are plenty more!):

  1. Walker of Worlds
  2. SciFiGuy
  3. Dark Wolf’s Fantasy Book Reviews
  4. Grasping for the Wind
  5. Fantasy Book Critic

bmOrbit has announced its Fall/Winter Titles for 2009-2010!

It’s a list that includes several debuts (Jesse Bullington, Gail Carriger, Robert Jackson Bennett, N.K. Jemison, and Nicole Peeler), as well as some that I have been looking forward to, such as Jennifer Rardin’s Bite Marks (October 2009), Jo Graham’s The Hand of Isis (January 2010) and Brian Ruckley’s Fall of Thanes (February 2010)

So I’ve been a little busy lately and not devoting the time I should be to my blog…well sure enough my laziness in upgrading to the newest WordPress version is probably what caused by blog to be hijacked!!

Luckily, I stumbled upon some directions to help me get back up and running. *Whew*. That was a close one. If you aren’t running on your blogging platform’s latest software, I suggest you upgrade immediately. Don’t these people have anything better to do than hack book review blogs??? I mean, use that time and energy and look into the CIA’s latest info on Area 51 or something. Leave my blog alone!

Lauren Panepinto, Creative Director for Orbit Books, once again walks us through “how books covers are made”, using Jennifer Rardin’s Bite Marks as the example.. She picks up where the last post left off (taking photos for the cover) and discusses details like the layout and font colors.

Check out this educational gem here! If you missed Part I, it can be found here.
