I have been looking forward to The Black Prism ever since I read Brent Weeks’ Night Angel series. The Black Prism sounds completely different from the Night Angel series, but just as interesting:

Gavin Guile is the Prism, the most powerful man in the world. He is high priest and emperor, a man whose power, wit, and charm are all that preserves a tenuous peace. But Prisms never last, and Guile knows exactly how long he has left to live: Five years to achieve five impossible goals.

Alas, it isn’t out yet, but you can spend some time learning what color drafter you are at a quiz over at Brent’s site! You can also get a sneak peek at the first three chapters, courtesy of Orbit.

Fantasy Debut has Moved!

The lovely blogger Tia of Fantasy Debut has moved her blog to a new, self-titled domain. It will now be called Debuts & Reviews.

Tia says:

Anyway. The new blog is called Debuts & Reviews. It’s basically just like Fantasy Debut, except it’s different. There’s a post up over there explaining why I did this.

There are directions at Fantasy Debut to update your feed, so head over and update your information and blogroll!

Random Tidbits

September has been a fairly busy month! I for one am enjoying the last bits of nice weather out on the porch before it begins to hail..or sleet..or snow..or whatever October usually holds for the Midwest.

  • Orbit announced the acquisition of Stealing Fire, Jo Graham’s latest novel about the theft of Alexander the Great’s body and subsequent division of his empire. Graham’s more recent book, The Hand of Isis, is due out in April 2009. Have I mentioned I love historical fantasy?
